Breakfast Sausage Patties

I wish I could take all the credit for this recipe but its not mine. And I wish I could give credit to its rightful owner but I have no idea who that is. This well-loved recipe has been sitting in my little blue recipe box for a few years now and while it’s truthfully not all mine, I will take credit for tweaking it over the years. This is a great one for those who are tired of eggs every day and need a little variety. Its also great for making a big batch and freezing what you won’t use immediately to be enjoyed on a later morning. I have been known to triple and quadruple this recipe then freezing 2-4 sausage patties in easy grab and go Ziploc baggies for quick and easy breakfast options.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp dry mustard powder
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 lb ground meat (turkey or pork tends to work best)

Steps:

  1. Stir all seasonings into meat and mix well.
  2. Form into patties of desired size.
  3. Melt 1-2 tbs of coconut oil in frying pan and cook about 4 minutes on each side or until cooked through OR simply brown each side then transfer to oven and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Enjoy immediately or freeze for up to 2 months.
